Rezensent Ulf Erdmann Ziegler zeigt sich überaus fasziniert von Adam Bartos' Fotoband "Kosmos", der die propagandistisch-ikonische Ära der sowjetischen Raumfahrt liebevoll dokumentiert. Wie Ziegler ausführt, wurde Bartos Einblick in die alten Labors, die Schaltzentralen, Repräsentationsräume, Fertigungshallen und Museen der Raumfahrtindustrie gewährt. Aber nicht nur die stummen, schweren Gerätschaften durfte Bartos fotografieren, sondern auch - für Ziegler der "Clou" des Buches - die großen alten Herren der sowjetischen Raumfahrt, die sich in den "ältlichen Interieurs einst moderner Wohnungen Schreine der Erinnerung hergerichtet haben, mit Modellraketen, Pokalen, Reliefs sowie Fotografien und Zeichnungen der frühen Pioniere". Bartos geht dabei nach Ansicht Zieglers ganz klassisch vor, "wenn er für die Porträts die Schärfen knapp belässt und für die Stillleben die Schärfe tief auslegt." Dass er dabei auf künstliches Licht verzichtet, sondern es "bei dem magischen Schummer vorgefundener Räume" belässt, gefällt Ziegler außerordentlich.
