Vorletzter Wettbewerbstag, die Pressevorstellung liegt auf der Frühschiene, um neun Uhr morgens, der Film ist ein fast zwei Stunden langes Debüt aus Kasachstan: Dass der Berlinalepalast auch bei "Harmony Lessons" gut gefüllt ist, spricht für die Ausdauer der akkreditierten Festivalgänger.
Als dann gleich in den ersten drei Minuten ein Schaf direkt vor der Kamera erst eingefangen, dann geschlachtet und ausgeweidet wird, geht zwar ein hörbares Stöhnen durchs Publikum (nebenbei bemerkt: Das ist bei weitem nicht die erste derartige Szene des Festivals; im Gegenteil sind derartige, von der Kamera beglaubigte Tiertötungen eines der quintessentiellen Motive des Festivalkinos, fast könnte man meinen, dass die Schlachtung im Weltkino wieder eine rituelle Bedeutung zurückgewinnt, ein Band über Raum und Zeit hinweg zum Zuschauer knüpft).
